Grande partecipazione a Villa Buri: sostegni e adesioni da tutta Italia e dall’estero

Il 25 maggio, a Villa Bernini Buri (Verona) più di 120 persone hanno potuto partecipare al convegno “Protezione internazionale, orientamento sessuale e identità di genere”, tenutosi in questa sede dopo la decisione di “sospendere e rinviare” l’iniziativa inizialmente prevista all’Università di Verona.
Le organizzatrici e gli organizzatori esprimono grande soddisfazione per la riuscita della giornata, la qualità degli interventi e del dibattito, avvenuto in un clima di scambio libero e democratico. Ringraziano inoltre tutte le persone, i gruppi, le associazioni, istituzioni, locali, nazionali e internazionali, che nell’ultima settimana hanno manifestato sostegno e solidarietà, attraverso comunicati, petizioni, iniziative e prese di posizione decisive.
L’interesse e l’adesione che ha suscitato questo evento non fa che confermare la rilevanza e la necessità di studiare e dibattere le questioni relative alle migrazioni LGBTI tra specialisti e professionisti del settore, specialmente in un contesto politico in cui forze razziste, xenofobe e omo-bi-transfobiche, reazionarie e fasciste, vorrebbero, al contrario, mettere a tacere.
Confidiamo di poter ritornare all’Università di Verona per proseguire questo lavoro di scambio sinergico tra l’accademia e i diversi attori che quotidianamente costruiscono conoscenza e pratiche per difendere i diritti fondamentali delle persone migranti LGBTI.

Overwhelming participation at Villa Buri: subscriptions and support from across Italy and abroad

Yesterday, 25 May 2018, more than 120 people could took part at Villa Bernini Buri (Verona) in the workshop on “Asylum seekers, sexual orientation and gender identity”, as already announced after the decision to “suspend and postpone” the workshop which was initially scheduled at the University of Verona.
The organizers are extremely happy about the success of the event and the quality of the interventions and the debate. The latter took place in an atmosphere of free and democratic exchange. Moreover, we thank individuals, groups and associations, as well as local, national and international institutions, which have expressed support and solidarity during the past week through public statements, petitions, initiatives and official stances.
The interest and participation raised by the event confirm the relevance and urgency of studying and discussing issues related to LGBT migrations, among experts and professionals in this field. This is especially true in the present political context, when we witness racist, xenophobic and homo/bi/transphobic forces – that is, reactionary and fascist forces – attempting to silence these issues.
We are confident that we will be able to come back together at the University of Verona, to continue this work of exchange between the University and the various actors who everyday produce knowledges and practices to defend the fundamental rights of LGBT migrant people.

Journée d’études Migrants LGBTI
Grande participation à Villa Buri (Vérone) : soutiens et adhésions dans toute l’Italie et depuis l’étranger
Le 25 mai, à Villa Buri (Vérone) plus de 120 personnes ont pu participer à la journée d’études « Protection internationale, orientation sexuelle et identité de genre » hors les murs de l’Université, après la décision de « suspendre et renvoyer » l’initiative initialement prévue à l’Université de Vérone.
Les organisatrices.teurs expriment une grande satisfaction pour le succès de la journée, la qualité des interventions et du débat qui s’est déroulé dans un échange libre et démocratique. Elles.ils remercient en outre toutes les personnes, les groupes, les associations, institutions, locales, nationales et internationales qui dans la dernière semaine ont manifesté leur soutien et leur solidarité à travers déclarations, communiqué de presse, pétitions, initiatives et prises de position décisives.
Espérons de pouvoir poursuivre ce travail d’échange entre l’académie et les différents acteurs qui, au quotidien, construisent connaissances et pratiques pour défendre les droits fondamentaux des personnes migrantes LGBTI dans les espaces de l’Université de Vérone.
